Video analytics for bank branches and ATMs

The AI CCTV system reads video from the cameras and recorders already installed in the branch. It tracks teller and customer service queues, visitor numbers, activity in the vault and events at ATMs. Branch managers receive daily, weekly and monthly reports.

How it works in a branch

An AI device is installed in the branch and reads video from the existing NVR/DVR. The analysis runs on that device and the recordings stay in the branch. Only analysis results, event clips and images requested by users are sent to the dashboard.

Before installing the device, we check the brand, age and position of the cameras and recorders in the branch. A camera above the teller counter, for example, may not be usable for counting people at the entrance. This check decides which functions can run in your branch.

What is monitored in branches and at ATMs

  • Teller and customer service queues

The system counts the people waiting in the teller and customer service areas, records how long they wait and shows the hours when queues start to build. Branch managers can use these figures to decide when to open another service desk.

  • People counting

Using cameras at the entrance and in the waiting area, the system counts visitors per hour and per day. The figures show the busiest days and hours and can be compared week by week.

  • Vault and restricted zones outside hours

You define restricted zones, such as the vault, and their operating hours. If someone is in one of these zones outside the set hours, the system logs an event and sends a notification.

  • ATMs inside and outside the branch

The system records people who stay at a machine longer than the limit you set, for example more than 5 minutes. ATM cameras are also checked every day to see whether they are off, covered or moved.

  • Camera and recorder monitoring

A recorder can stop recording without anyone noticing, its clock can drift, and a camera can go offline at certain hours. The system checks for these problems, including recorder storage capacity, so they come to light before the footage is needed.

  • Footage search

Footage can be played back by camera and by day, with events marked on the timeline. Staff looking for a specific event can go straight to the marked part of the recording.

  • SOP compliance

The system records whether rules that the cameras can see are followed, for example two staff present when the vault is opened and service desks staffed during service hours. Each event can be checked against its footage before anyone acts on it.

  • Reports for branch managers and the regional office

Daily, weekly and monthly reports summarise visitors, service, the vault, camera status and events that need action. They go to the branch manager and any other recipients you choose, for example at the regional office.

Trial at a state-owned bank (BUMN)

In August and September 2026, the MocengVision team and an integration partner tested MocengVision, a platform built by Teguh Hardiansah and Nabil Basyuni, at one branch and two off-site ATMs of a state-owned bank (BUMN). The trial used the cameras and recorders already installed.

Seven functions were tested: video compression, recorder and camera monitoring, footage search, AI for security and SOP compliance, service activity analysis, notifications, and daily, weekly and monthly reporting. Every footage clip was archived with its camera data, recording time, duration, file size and SHA-256 hash. The trial is complete and the results have been handed over.

What the bank needs to prepare

We agree this list with the bank's contact person before the survey.

  • Access to the recorders

Permission and network access to the NVR/DVR in the branch, so the on-site device can read video from the recorder.

  • Camera list

The channel number, location and direction of each camera, including ATM cameras. We use this list to choose the cameras for each function.

  • Contacts at the branch and in IT

One person at the branch for visit schedules and room access, and one person in IT or security for network permissions.

  • Rules to monitor

Operating hours, restricted zones, ATM time limits and the list of report recipients. If these are not defined yet, we propose them for the bank to approve.

  • Space and connectivity

Space and a power outlet near the recorder for the AI device, and an internet connection to send notifications and reports.

Trial process

The sequence follows the trial at the state-owned bank. The length of each stage is agreed with the bank.

  1. Camera and recorder survey

We check the cameras, recorders and network at the selected branches and ATMs, then mark the cameras that suit each function.

  2. Scope

Together with the bank, we choose the functions to test, the cameras to use and the people who receive notifications and reports.

  3. Installation and zone setup

The device is installed without replacing any camera or recorder. Queue, vault and ATM zones are set up and then checked with branch staff.

  4. Trial period

The system runs during normal branch operations. The bank receives notifications and daily, weekly and monthly reports.

  5. Final report

We hand over a report on each function, including the cameras and recorders that need repair. The bank uses it to decide the next step.

FAQ

Questions about video analytics in banks

Do the branch cameras and recorders have to be replaced?

Not necessarily. The trial at the state-owned bank used the cameras and recorders already installed. If a camera is badly placed for a function, we note it during the survey together with a proposed fix.

Is video sent out of the branch?

Only analysis results, event clips and images requested by users. Raw video is not uploaded, and the full recordings stay on the branch recorder.

Who receives notifications and reports?

The recipients you choose, for example the branch manager, security staff or a team at the regional office. Each notification shows the location, camera, time, event type and a snapshot.

Why is the bank in the trial not named?

Because of a confidentiality agreement. We refer to it as a state-owned bank (BUMN) until the bank gives written permission.

How much does video analytics cost for a branch?

It depends on the number of branches, ATMs and cameras, and on the functions you choose. We prepare a quotation after the camera and recorder survey.

Can we start with one branch?

Yes. The trial at the state-owned bank ran at one branch and two ATMs. The results from the first branch are the basis for choosing the next ones.
